Updated: Mar 8, 2021

Got a great pharmacy website or blog? Perfect. Content marketing is a fantastic way to grow your pharmacy business.

Never heard of content marketing?

In short, content marketing is using relevant content to add value to your patients' lives. It's a great way to build trusting relationships and build your patient base.

But whether you're new to content marketing or an old pro, we've got the 30-day challenge for you. Over the next 30 days, we'll post 30 blog posts to walk you through how to use content marketing to grow your business.

We'll get into all the details and best practices you need to use content marketing to sell both your products and services. We'll also delve into all sorts of strategies that you can try for yourself.

How the 30-Day Challenge Works

Every day, we'll post a new article on content marketing on the iApotheca blog. At the end of each article there will be a printable checklist with your action items for that day.

Simply read the article, print out the checklist and check off your tasks as you complete them. If you miss some content, no worries. We'll send out an email every Monday morning with all the links to the content from the previous week.

What You'll Need for the 30-Day Challenge

First off, you'll need a website for your pharmacy; if you don't have one, you can read more about that in the iApotheca Blog. Check out our article, 'Want to Make your Pharmacy Website the Best?' for more information.

It's also helpful to have your social media accounts set up, and you can find out more about that in our article on How to Promote your Pharmacy on Social Media.

If you're looking for a content planning resource, feel free to download our free iApotheca Pharmacy Content Planner. In it, you'll find everything you need to be able to:

  • Define your content strategy for each quarter.

  • Set quarterly, monthly & weekly marketing goals.

  • Plan out your blog series & posts including formats.

  • Track your social media growth by the numbers.

  • Delegate content marketing tasks to staff members.

That last one- delegating content- is important. It's a great idea to get your staff involved with your content marketing strategy. And, delegating to freelancers can be a great option for super busy pharmacies.

Why?

Several reasons, including:

  • Content marketing takes time; delegating tasks means you'll get everything done without added stress.

  • Your staff also knows your patients, their issues and what they need, which means they can offer valuable insight into strategy and content.

  • Creating content is just more fun when it's a team effort!

Other than these things, you'll need an open mind and a willingness to experiment. It'll be interesting to see where you can take it!

Content Marketing for Pharmacies

As any business owner is aware, it's essential to have an online presence. More and more, the Internet is a go-to for people searching for information.

If they can't find you there, they'll likely find your competition.

One of the best ways to make yourself easy to find is to have lots of content out there.

Don't have time to create content? I get that, pharmacies are busy, but look at it this way. By taking a few minutes out of your day, you can create content that markets for you while you're busy with other stuff.

That's why creating simple content is perfect for busy business owners like you. And, if you still feel you just can't make time, there are lots of great ways to outsource your content.

Sites like Fiverr, Upwork and others have fantastic freelancers at very reasonable prices. All you have to do is find one you like; submit your ideas and they'll create professional content for you.

But either way you decide to do it, you're not limited to blog articles. Online content comes in all sorts of formats.

You can post:

  • Audio content or podcasts

  • Images

  • Infographics

  • Video content

  • eBooks

  • Podcasts

  • Printables

  • And more!

There's lots of different formats out there. For more ideas on how to come up with ideas for content, check out 7 Easy Ways to Create Amazing Content for your Pharmacy Blog.

And, with a pharmacy blog, there are endless topics you can choose.

Your goal? In the short term, to inform your patients, to educate them, or to inspire them. In the long term, to build their trust in your expertise as they come to know you through your content.

If patients can find and learn from your content, they'll stay loyal to your services.

But we won't just be using your blog or website for your content marketing. We'll experiment with platforms like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and more.

And with all our content creation, we'll focus on strategies that help you get found in search results.
